Our Story

Who we are

Our story is built on a legacy of mentorship and professional continuity that began in 1968, when Advocate Yoram Kaplan founded the firm in Jerusalem. This foundation of excellence was passed down through generations of leadership: current partner Daniel Alon began his career as Yoram’s intern, and Ella Gur later joined the firm as Daniel’s intern before becoming a partner herself.

Today, this unique lineage ensures that while we evolve with modern legal challenges, we remain rooted in the same commitment to integrity and mentorship that has defined our firm for over five decades.

Ella Gur

Advocate & Mediator, Managing Partner

Head of the tender law, public & administrative law and labor law departments. Ella specializes in tender law, providing expert counsel to both public-sector preparers and bidders across all competitive processes, including high-level court litigation and legislative work at the Knesset. Additionally, she brings extensive experience in public, administrative, and labor law, and is a qualified mediator who frequently lectures in academic and professional forums.

Daniel Alon

Advocate, Head of Office & Managing Partner

Head of the business & commercial departments with specialties across civil, commercial, corporate, and real-estate law, providing long-term counsel and high-level litigation management for entrepreneurs, corporations, and non-profits. His practice is further distinguished by leadership roles as a former disciplinary judge for the Israel Bar Association and a two-term director for the Israeli Stock Exchange Authority.

Yoram Cohen

Founder & Advocate, 1938-2020

Founder of the firm in 1968 who set a mark on the firm’s special spirit and heritage.

Yoram was a mentor to both Daniel & Ella, leading the firm with professional excellence, high service awareness, bearing original and creative thought as well as the ability to accommodate legal services to the specific and special requirements of each client.

Founding of the Firm

The firm (under its original name) was established in Jerusalem by the late Yoram Kaplan, Adv.

1974

Daniel Alon

Daniel joins the firm as an intern (and later leads the firm as a partner).

1997

Ella Gur

Ella joins the firm as an intern (and later leads the firm as a partner).

2004

New Partnerships

Daniel and Ella are leading partners who enrich the firm with cornerstone clients in the field of public law, including government ministries, state-owned enterprises, and major public corporations.
